How Did God Come Into Existence?

Q. I have a question. Who/what created god? explain a realistic scientific process in which god could be created...scientifically speaking, matter is never created or destroyed.

A. This is a great question. If you don't mind, I'll rephrase it to, "How did God come into existence?"

My short answer is this: God has always existed. No being or creature created Him.

Let me expound a little. The Christian view of God is that He possesses the following qualities: He is all-powerful (also called omnipotent), He is all-knowing (omniscient), He is everywhere at once (omnipresent), He has no beginning and no end (eternal), and He is love incarnate. How do we know these things about God? Take a look at the following verses:

Omnipotent

"Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." - John 1:3

"Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: "What have you done?"" -Daniel 4:34b-35

Omniscient

"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" -Romans 11:34

"But how can a mortal be righteous before God? Though one wished to dispute with him, he could not answer him one time out of a thousand. His wisdom is profound, his power is vast. Who has resisted him and come out unscathed? He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in his anger." -Job 9:2a-5

Omnipresent

Psalm 139 (a longer quote)

Eternal

"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." -Deuteronomy 33:27a

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine naturehave been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." -Romans 1:20

Love

"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." -Zephaniah 3:17

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." -I John 4:7-12

There are certainly more verses that display these qualities of God, but I want to get back to answering the question. If God exists, it would make sense for Him to have all of these qualities listed above. After all, would God really be God if something was more powerful than He or if someone had more knowledge? The answer is no. The being or force that is greater than God would be God. By definition, there is no one greater than God.

If there is no one greater than God, how could God be created? It would be impossible. It is here where the eternal nature of God comes into play. Because God is eternal, it means that He exists outside of time and therefore the terms beginning and end have no meaning when applied to His existence. God created time and is not subject to its constraints. The Creator is not a part of His creation and does not have to follow the rules that He set in place for that creation.

This will also partially answer the question about the First Law of Thermodynamics, which states that matter cannot be created or destroyed, only changed. We know this to be true as an observable law in our universe, but it is a paradox because matter exists. How did all matter come into being to begin with? Where did the First Law of Thermodynamics come from? This is a natural law that could only be broken by a supernatural force. God created the universe and He also set into motion all of the natural laws of science and physics that we observe today. He is, however, not bound by those laws Himself.
